This is a painting of a 'Fairy Tree', there are many such trees dotted around Ireland. They are usually ancient hawthorn trees,growing in the middle of a field. They are reputed to be owned by the fairies and bad luck will befall any who interfere with them. To this day farmers work around them giving them a wide berth when using machinery lest they damage the roots.Acrylic on canvas
